While out testing the survival equipment in Utah, Colonel Trautman ends up stumbling upon Gripper attacking a nearby town and ends up captured as well. General Warhawk uses the Earth-Eater machine to go through a gold mine and take over the Warton Missile Complex and threatens to launch an attack from the missile base if his demands aren't met.
